Editorial policy & sources

Sources we trust

  • Official herbal monographs: European Medicines Agency (HMPC) and World Health Organization.
  • Public health agencies: NIH National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) and Office of Dietary Supplements.
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses (for example Cochrane), found through PubMed.
  • Safety databases such as LiverTox and LactMed, and USDA FoodData Central for nutrition facts.

Every health claim on a page is linked to a numbered source. We check that each link works and that each PubMed reference matches its title before publishing.

How a page is made

  • We draft each plant page, including its three translations, with the help of AI writing tools, working only from the cited sources.
  • Automatic checks refuse a page if a claim has no source, a source is missing, a kid text mentions a dose, or the kid text is too hard to read.
  • A person from our team reads every benefit, warning and source before the page is published, and records the review date on the page.
  • Pages are reviewed again at least every 12 months, and sooner when important new research appears.

Independence

Our health information is never written to sell a product. Shop, affiliate or advertising content, if we add any, will always be clearly labelled, shown only in grown-up sections, and kept separate from the plant information.
